Sailing Frame

LET'S BEGIN
Save Often
1.Unzip the materials into your selected folder.
Open up PI and install the Flood Plugin Filter, close then reopen PI.

Install the gradient & the pattern tiles into your easy palette

2. Open the applied mask & water images into your work space.


3.Make the water image active right click and select Copy.
Now make the masked applied image active right click and select Paste.
In your Layer Palette ~ move the water image below the masked applied image.
Right click and Merge All.
This is how your image should be now:


4.Go to Adjust/Expand Canvas, expand to the settings below and click OK.

Activate the Magic Wand Tool with these settings:

Click the white of the Expanded Canvas.

Go to Edit/Trace Edges/Select Marquee. Leave at Default Settings. Click OK.


5.With the Path Drawing Tool activated go to the Drop Down List and change it from Horizontal Deform to 2D Object:

Open the Easy Palette and find where you installed the Gradient Tile, click twice to apply it to your image
Still in your Easy Palette go to Text/Path Effects/Material Attribute/Bevel and double click on bevel 'B33' to apply the bevel.
This is what we have now:

Right click Merge All.

6.Go to Adjust/Expand Canvas, expand to the settings below and click OK.
As in Step 4.
Only this time change the expansion to 25.
Activate the Magic Wand Tool with these settings:

Click the white of the Expanded Canvas.
Go to Edit/Trace Edges/Select Marquee. Leave at Default Settings. Click OK.

7.With the Path Drawing Tool activated go to the Drop Down List and change it from Horizontal Deform to 2D Object:

Open the Easy Palette and find where you installed the Patttern Tile, click twice to apply it to your image
Right Click and Merge All
This is what we have now:


8.Go to Filters/Flaming Pear/Flood and apply the following settings.
Click Ok to apply

9.Open up in your PI workspace the the Wave.Ufo.
In the Layer Palette make the Raster 1 layer active.
In the Wave Image ~ Right click within the active part of the image and select Copy
Now, with your main image activated right click in the center and select Paste
Using your Pick Tool move it into the position as shown below by the red line:
Minimise the wave image for now we will be using it again soon.

Right click. Merge All.

10.Repeat as directed in Steps 4 & 5
This is what we have now:


11.Go to Adjust/Expand Canvas, expand to the settings below and click OK.
As in Step 4.
Only this time change the expansion to 15.
Activate the Magic Wand Tool with these settings:

Click the white of the Expanded Canvas.
Go to Edit/Trace Edges/Select Marquee. Leave at Default Settings. Click OK.
With the Path Drawing Tool activated go to the Drop Down List and change it from Horizontal Deform to 2D Object:

Open up Pattern2 into your PI workspace. Right click and select Copy.
With the main image once again actiavted go to Edit/Paste/Fit Into Selection.
Open up in your PI workspace the the Wave.Ufo. In the Layer Palette make the Raster 1 layer active.
In the Wave Image ~ Right click within the active part of the image and select Copy
Now, with your main image activated right click in the center and select Paste
Go to Edit/Rotate & Flip/Flip Horizontally
Using your Pick Tool move it into the position as shown below by the red line:

Right click and Merge All. Then add an outer frame as for the first. Merge All.

Your Sailing Frame is now complete. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
